Masjid Zahir, situated at Jalan Kampung Perak in Alor Setar, Kedah, is a prestigious historical mosque renowned for its eclectic architectural concept. Inspired by North Indian Mughal architecture, the design incorporates diverse cultural influences, including onion-shaped domes, Hindu temple-inspired corbel arches, and Persian iwan arches. The structure is supported by numerous columns reflecting Indian mosque design, while its walls feature colorful Portuguese-style Arabesque patterns. Additionally, the minaret features small windows engineered to trap natural light and amplify the call to prayer. Documented by Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah architecture students, it remains a grand historic landmark.
